God's Grace...

Those of us who have been consumed by loss can attest to the fact that "Loss makes you blind".  The people around become secondary to what ails you.  Loss robs you of vision, and clarity.  If you are not careful, you will miss God's grace.

Naomi testifies to this truth.  When she returns from Moab, she returns empty.  She has lost her husband and children, and she is bitter.  She blames the Lord for her sorrow; Ruth 1:19-22.  Ruth her daughter-in-law sits quietly by her side.  Ruth has become Naomi sole support.  She provides food daily.  She supports her mother-in-law emotionally, for she identifies with her burdens.  Ruth is physically there, holding her hand during the days when the loss is unbearable.  Ruth is  Naomi's example of God's grace.

Bathsheba was a victim of abuse of power.  In a matter of months, she looses her reputation, her husband, and her home; 2 Samuel 11.  To her dismay, her losses increased with the death of her child; 2 Samuel 12:15-19.  Quietly, the Lord intervenes and sends her a second child.  His name is Solomon which means "Loved by the Lord"; 2 Samuel 12:24-25.  Solomon is his mother's source of comfort, joy and satisfaction.  He will become the next king of Israel.  Solomon is Bathsheba's example of God's grace.

The Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever; Hebrews 13:8.  He always remembers you.  He remembers your suffering, your sorrow and your loss.  Pay attention, because someone around you might be your example of God's grace.
