I am always moved by those mentioned in the
scriptures. There is the faithful
Abraham; the laughing Sarah, the obedient Hagar, the repentant Abimelek; the
slave’s son, Ismael. Their faith and belief encourages me. However their struggles are my greatest
lessons.
In them I see Him.
The God of mercy. He is the one who forgives Abraham’s fears and
lies. The one who blesses Sarah, despite
her harshness and mistreatment. The one who
considers Abimelek’s lack of understanding, and treats him fairly. The one who listens to Hagar’s anguished, and
not only provides but gives blessings to her offspring.
As I view their struggles, I am affirmed in the
knowledge of Him. I am moved by the
outpouring of his mercy, not only on them, but on me. He who is able to give an
imperfect man, blessings beyond what he deserves. He who is able to complete the work He began. The God who is faithful and fulfills all promises. I am grateful for in Him, there is Hope for
me…
