For several weeks, I watched and became familiar with its routine. I interacted with the people and began to learn their culture. As time went on, I realized that most, I had seen before. I admit though, it was not at this magnitude. I became weary and began to question my Lord's choice. Why has He brought me to such a place? How will I handle what was to come? For the more I learned about my surroundings, the more complex the challenges became.
The Lord led me to Daniel. Who else will know how to survive in Babylon? I determined in my heart, not to contaminate myself with the king's food; Daniel 1:8; Mark 7:15-23. I knew that praying three times a day would now be a constant practice and a daily desire; Daniel 6:10. For the only way to survive and endure in such a place would be by relying totally on Him; Phil 4:13. I also requested his Spirit to conduct my path and reveal his fruits; Galatians 5:22-23.
So the road ahead is arduous. I know, that I will not be able to persevere without the Lord's support. If you think of me, remember where I am. I live in Babylon. Pray that my Lord will continue to reveal his grandeur and splendor as I walk.....
